Flow Improvers

Biodiesel fuels have flow characteristics of varying quality in cold temperatures. This is due to their components—long-chain fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) whose melting points vary widely from around –35 to +45°C. Depending on its source material, biodiesel contains more or fewer fatty acid methyl esters with high melting points. Nevertheless, the different types of biodiesel must comfortably satisfy the low temperature characteristics required by current fuel standards.
